Staff members are trained to understand what is expected of them on a day-to-day basis in their individual roles.
Standards
The standards for each hotel are clearly defined (through the brand) and we define how those standards will be achieved.
Statutory requirements are met and kept up to date as a priority.
All departments have quality standards manuals that document the operation. These manuals are updated as services are upgraded or change.
Training plans
Each member of staff completes a job skills training plan and their performance is regularly reviewed to ensure operational standards are being met.
All individual training plans highlight individual development needs and development opportunities which department managers communicate via our integrated HR software. This enables us to ensure the right courses are being delivered when and where they are needed.
Training portfolio
Our in-house training team delivers our portfolio of development courses and workshops. New courses are added all the time and existing courses are regularly reviewed to ensure they are in line with current requirements.
Courses within our training portfolio are linked to specific roles to provide a structured training programme for any role in the organisation. This, together with the HR software records of staff training, helps with succession planning and development.
We are a registered training centre for the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH).
